Weekend Tagalog Instructor for K-5

Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Tagalog instructor to join our team and teach weekend classes for students in grades K-3. The instructor will be responsible for designing engaging and age-appropriate lessons to enhance the language skills of students, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Classes will be held on Sundays over an 8-week period.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for Tagalog language instruction, tailored to the varying age ranges of K-5th grade students.

• Create interactive and engaging lesson plans that incorporate diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and cultural appreciation.

• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.

• Utilize a variety of teaching materials, resources, and technology to enhance the learning experience.

• Maintain open communication with parents, providing updates on student performance and addressing any concerns or questions.

• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to coordinate activities and events related to Tagalog language and culture.

• Attend periodic meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices in language instruction and curriculum development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, linguistics, Tagalog language, or a related field.

• Previous experience in teaching Tagalog language to K-3rd grade students is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for different age groups.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Enthusiasm for promoting language and cultural education among students.

• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods based on the needs and abilities of students.

• Familiarity with educational technology and tools for language instruction.

• Child Abuse Clearances required

Schedule:

Sundays, for an 8-week period Oct 13 to Dec 8 (no class on Dec 1)
